This role, newly created, is reflective of a continuing focus to not only offer more to customers, but also positively continue from a sustainability perspective.About the roleThe newly created role of Senior Packaging Technologist will be a standalone role supporting the wider technical and operations functions in a few core aspects - namely, packaging formats, NPD, sustainability and manufacturing feasibility.This role will report into the functional head for NPD/R&D and be a peer level role to NPD Managers. Core aspects of the role will include:Driving the business's adherence to and performance against the sustainability strategy, with a clearly mapped and defined multi-year agenda for both R&D and SustainabilityOwnership of critical projects for NPD, particularly as they relate to packaging formats and raw materials.Working with core internal stakeholders across relevant functional disciplines - R&D/Quality/Operations/Engineering, while also being a critical touchpoint for proactive relationship building with external suppliers.Juggling a diverse portfolio of projects, both short term sprints and longer term business continuity/strategy focussed.About you/what we are looking forFrom an industry experience perspective, you will have had demonstrable experience within the food or broader FMCG sector in a role that has had significant exposure to packaging. You may have come into this field via the R&D/Food Science stream, or come out of an Engineering/Raw Materials background and then gone on to specialise looking at packaging through a bigger picture lens. Outside of this, we are looking for someone who is capable of working in an autonomous manner as part of a lean, but highly collaborative wider technical team.
