The Role: Martinus are seeking an experienced GIS Specialist to work on our Albury to Parkes (A2P) Railway project with Inland Rail. This role is based in our North Sydney Office. Key Responsibilities: We're on the lookout for a skilled GIS Specialist who can harness the power of geospatial data to drive efficiency and growth in our rail operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Programmatically manipulate geospatial datasets, including satellite imagery, LiDAR data, and vector datasets. Manage spatial data, including importing, maintaining, and validating large geospatial datasets provided by clients. Develop and manage spatial data with input from internal teams, including design, construction, and environmental/sustainability departments. Prepare data to meet client technical specifications for digital deliverables, ensuring compliance with planning, environmental, and construction requirements. Produce drawings, sketches, and data to support construction planning. Coordinate with survey teams to convert data into appropriate GIS formats. Attend meetings and workshops with external stakeholders to align on deliverable expectations. Essential Skills and Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of GIS experience. Diploma or degree in spatial sciences, geospatial disciplines, construction, design, or engineering. Proficiency with Esri and QGIS software systems. Experience interfacing with and converting file formats from various design software packages (e.g., AutoCAD, 12D). Skills in Python, FME, or SQL are advantageous. Strong visual presentation skills. Excellent facilitation and communication abilities. Experience in data management, including operations, quality, and security. About You: Capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Skilled in managing, tracking, and updating large datasets. Effective communicator with various internal and external stakeholders. Adaptable to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
