You will be a part of the APAC Advice team within the Trading & Supply (T&S) Compliance organization, as the leading Compliance support for Shell Energy Australia (SE Aus) and other T&S or related businesses within this region. You will manage and develop the skills and competencies of more junior members of the Compliance Advisory team and represent Compliance in regional leadership meetings. This role will be the primary interface with the business for all regulatory and compliance questions & concerns, requiring expansive knowledge of gas and power wholesale markets and regulatory framework. Acting as the first point of contact for all regulatory & compliance advice to the various T&S businesses within their region. Providing guidance and advice to T&S businesses on the Shell Code of Conduct. Managing the escalation of more complex regulatory & compliance or Code of Conduct queries to the relevant Compliance SME. Reviewing new product or activities as part of any T&S new business approval process. Assisting the T&S Compliance Training team with the allocation and delivery of training. Providing input to Compliance Risk Assessments. You’ll build strong business partnerships, understand, and manage Compliance risks, and guide the Business on regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with regulations and Shell policies, mitigate risks like anti-trust, bribery & corruption, and money laundering, and collaborate on training and assurance plans. What we need from you To succeed in this role, you will have: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (or equivalent work experience). Understanding of the regulatory frameworks that apply to the East Coast gas and power wholesale markets and financial sector regulation. A strong understanding of Australian Energy Markets and compliance risks. Extensive experience in a combination of Trading Compliance or comparable Governance and Audit roles. Proven leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to motivate, develop and drive performance and encourage team dynamics as well as experience operating as part of a business leadership team. Knowledge of the Australian T&S Businesses (including electricity, gas, and environmental and financial products) is required. Extensive prior experience in a regulatory or policy role within an external business, market body or government is highly desirable as well as experience in managing compliance for a trading function. Robust written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation, both internally and externally, and engage with a wide range of stakeholders. Credible and persuasive in ensuring the needs of our complex business are fully understood, resolve conflict and deliver tough messages.
