Ital Biscuits and Cakes' manufacturing capacity extends well beyond producing for their own labels – with capabilities to manufacture for any large or small organisation under their own private label. Ital is the largest manufacturer of Panettone cakes in Australia. The client is currently searching for a Laboratory Quality Technician/Analyst to work on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will be conducting routine QC physical tests on a range of their products prior to release for sale. You will play a crucial role in the production and sale of safe food products to the public. You will ensure consistency, minimise misinformation, and support manufacturing and regulatory team. Your responsibilities will include sample collection, raw materials analysis, finished goods testing, laboratory maintenance and calibrations, and the implementation of our Quality Management System and HACCP Plan to meet ITAL's high standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food technology and a keen willingness to learn and grow within the existing team of professionals. The successful candidate will support the Quality agenda by ensuring all analytical and testing equipment is maintained, calibrated and available for each production shift in a timely manner. Minimum Requirements: You must hold AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma and at least 3 years previous experience in the similar role is must. Responsibilities: In this role your main responsibilities include: • Collecting samples of raw materials, in-process and finished products • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, health and environmental requirements • Performing routine chemical and microbiological analyses in a high-volume laboratory • Assist with the development and maintenance of test procedures • Follow relevant standard operating procedures • Comply with the laboratory's quality procedures • Analyse and report assigned samples • Maintain and improve quality and food safety systems • Perform analytical testing, analytical instrument calibration and maintenance • Trouble-shoot quality issues • Monitor and report on results of laboratory tests • Maintaining a safe working environment • Work within recognised quality frameworks • Enter and maintain accurate records of all tested products • Provide support to the production team to achieve daily targets • Analyse and report unscheduled samples according to instructions Skills and attributes: • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively within a team environment • Previous experience in the food industry and/or microbiology laboratory • Knowledge of GMP and HACCP is advantageous • Excellent communication to liaise with internal stakeholders in manufacturing and quality assurance • Ability to interpret and deliver results • Task orientated, with excellent time management skills • High attention to detail • Ability to accurately monitor and report on results of laboratory tests Applications for this opportunity should be forwarded by email to infonextgentalent.com.au Please note only short-listed candidates will be contacted and your application will be treated as strictly confidential.
