The Finance and Payroll Officer is responsible for overseeing financial transactions and payroll processing, ensuring strict adherence to regulations. Working in close collaboration with the CFO, they deliver precise financial insights and analysis to steer decision-making in line with the strategic vision. This role entails a range of essential bookkeeping responsibilities, including managing accounts payable and receivable, overseeing employment expense claims, and accurately processing payroll on a monthly basis. Based in a newly established facility in inner city Melbourne, this role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional who thrives on applying their expertise, continuous learning, and contributing to a dynamic team and growing business. Key responsibilities Finance and payroll Bookkeeping duties Accounts payable Accounts receivable Monthly Payroll (incl. Commission calculations, bonuses, etc.) IAS, BAS and FBT lodgements Payroll Tax lodgements Prepare management reports Employee expense claims Special projects as required to develop and improve the in-house finance and related functions Software management Xero or similar Employment Hero (Keypay Payroll) Liaise with stakeholders Internal – HR and key personnel External – accounting and other professional services, including auditors Key selection criteria Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounts / Bookkeeping Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel) Proactive and able to work autonomously Strong organisational skills Flexible attitude and willingness to assist in diverse tasks Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy Suitable qualifications or ability to demonstrate required competency through professional experience Experience with Employment Hero (Keypay Payroll) would be beneficial Why IonOpticks?
