The hubs act as a ‘front door’ service to the mental health system where people can access services without eligibility criteria or a referrals. CMHWS support people of all ages experiencing psychological distress or mental ill health and offer a blend of face-to-face support in the community, in person, telehealth and online services. The service delivers wellbeing supports tailored to a client’s individual needs including early intervention, specialist referrals, and support for families and carers.We are seeking an empathic, self-motivated Peer Practitioner to work within an innovative service in the Inner-East & North-East area. You will utilise lived and living experience of mental ill health and recovery to deliver positive, person-centred recovery-orientated supports to clients to achieve their recovery goals, promote wellbeing and live safely within the community. As this position requires travel a fleet car is provided for tool of trade.Key responsibilitiesUtilise your own lived and living experience of mental ill health and recovery to inform your work and the work of the team.Deliver high quality in person and outreach services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.Support clients to remain in the community, promote their wellbeing and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.Provide information and mentoring to clients to establish relationships with families and carers, create community networks and access to relevant services.Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to client’s recovery goals.What you’ll bringCompletion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/ or Advanced Training, or Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, is desirable but not required.Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) Community Services, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind.Prior lived experience and willingness to support clients through sharing learnings and recovery orientated practice.Expertise in working with adults and young people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.Proven capability to implement therapeutic, recovery oriented frameworks and practices including risk mitigation, trauma informed care and family inclusive practice.Relevant experience in facilitating group activities for clients experiencing mental ill health.BenefitsSalary packaging up to $15,900 p.a. allows you to allocate a portion of your pre-tax income to cover living expenses (e.g. rent, mortgage, child care, car leasing expenses etc.)Option to access Meal and Entertainment allowance up to $2,650 p.a. via Salary Packaging.Learning, development and career opportunities.Interested?To obtain a position description and apply visit Mind Careers - reference number 497055.
