Salary: Band 5 - $75,511 - $87,624 + superannuation

We are looking for an experienced investigations officer to join our outstanding Local Law, Parking and Animal Management in the Community Safety and Compliance team.
What you’ll be working on
* Carrying out Parking and Local Laws patrols, investigations, surveys, interviews and inspections to ensure compliance throughout the municipality with the relevant legislation and codes of practice.
* Issuing infringement notices, attending Court and acting as an informant when required, issuing notices to comply, advising and educating the public.
* Maintaining proper records of all investigations undertaken and ensuring the Team Leader is kept informed of all activities and investigations undertaken.
* Performing the functions of an Animal Management Officer under provisions of the Domestic Animals Act 1994 and Hobsons Bay Community Local Law 2015.
* Assisting and contributing to the preparation and communication of public awareness and education campaigns relating to animals.
* Undertaking investigations in relation to complaints received by Council and the resolution of complaints in a timely manner.
What you need to succeed
* Completion of Certificate IV in Local Government (Statutory Compliance) and Certificate IV in Local Government (Animal Management), desirable.
* Demonstrate a good working knowledge of legislation relevant to the role.
* Relevant experience in Animal handling.
* Other relevant knowledge and experience as outlined in the attached position description.
* Current Victorian driver’s license.
