The Role:
You will be a motivated individual with a strong ability to research, analyze, evaluate, and monitor network infrastructure. Using the latest technologies and best practices, you will install, configure, test, maintain, and administer new and upgraded networks, ensuring robust support and troubleshooting for any network issues.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
1. Ability to research, analyze, evaluate, and monitor network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and recommend improvements.
2. Install, configure, test, maintain, and administer new and upgraded networks, providing support and troubleshooting for network problems and emergencies.
3. Communicate effectively, anticipating stakeholder needs and expectations across a geographically dispersed network.
4. Collaborate proactively with key stakeholders and vendors, building strong relationships across IT partners.
5. Understand and maintain Layer 2 networks such as VLANs, Trunks, and Spanning-Tree.
6. Demonstrated use of modern cloud-based networking technologies.
7. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, providing clear explanations and justifications for recommendations.
8. Proactively establish priorities and manage risk to ensure the delivery of successful electoral events.
Desirable:
9. A relevant bachelor’s degree or higher qualification, or relevant vendor certification.
10. Experience configuring and maintaining FortiGate firewalls.
11. Experience configuring dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
12. Experience deploying and maintaining DWDM optical networks.
13. Experience troubleshooting L4-7 application performance problems.
14. Experience maintaining DNS and DHCP network infrastructure.
