Oceania Meat Processors (OMP), part of Ridley's Ingredient Recovery segment, is a premium producer of mechanically deboned meat frozen block products and other raw materials for the global pet food industry. OMP also operates a manufacturing site in Timaru, New Zealand.
About the roleReporting to the Finance & Commercial Manager for Ingredient Recovery, your role will support the Finance & Commercial Manager with financial analysis, month-end close processes, weekly reporting, weekly stocktakes, inventory control, budgeting, forecasting, raw material pricing, invoice processing and providing administrative support to teams at OMP's Laverton & Timaru sites.
Working within the commercial team, this role will collaborate across various departments in the Ingredient Recovery division and continuously focus on improving processes and systems for better outcomes. The role will occasionally require travel to New Zealand.
Key responsibilities for this position include:Filing of AP invoices and reconciling supplier statementsPerform Bank Account ReconciliationsKeying of AP invoices, including checking, posting and sending of raw material purchase ordersSales invoicing, checking and posting of sales ordersDaily reporting on sales and inventoryAssistance in preparing payroll, AP and AR runsProvide weekly financial reports on key performance indicators for the divisionConduct ad-hoc financial analysisOversee month-end close, including accruals and P&L reviewAssist with regular stocktakingManage inventory oversightSupport regular forecasting activitiesAssist with annual budget preparationSupport sales and procurement teams in annual contractingSupport administrative teams with D365 system queries, invoice processing, and other ad-hoc requestsEngage with Ridley's central finance function for group reporting, including assistance in statutory reporting requirements and auditor engagement Key Skills & Attributes3+ years of experience in a similar role or professional practiceStrong knowledge of general accounting and administration functionsEagerness to learn and grow within the roleAbility to engage with key stakeholders across multiple functional areasProficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong verbal, negotiation, and written communication skillsHigh attention to detailExperience with Microsoft D365 or AX (desirable)Experience in inventory control (desirable)CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification (desirable) Other detailsLocated at Laverton, with targeted search in Timaru as an alternative.
