The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking applications from suitably qualified persons for appointment to the position of General Manager Research to Operations.

Our products and services include observations, forecasts, warnings, analysis and advice. They cover Australia's atmosphere, water, oceans and space environments.
Reporting directly to the Chief Scientist and Group Executive, Science and Innovation, the General Manager, Research to Operations is a member of the Science and Innovation Group Leadership Team.
The General Manager, Research to Operations is responsible for the transfer of advanced model and decision support systems from research and development environments into an operational environment, across a range of high-performance computing environments. The incumbent will foster development and delivery of innovative and efficient solutions and ensure customer delivery. They will also foster close collaboration with the Bureau's Research Program and Data and Digital Group to efficiently transfer robust systems such as numerical models, deep learning models, and analysis and data systems, into operations.

You will have demonstrated ability to lead culture uplift, advance process and technology innovation, and work collaboratively with a range of partners to deliver customer-focussed outcomes.
This role may be located in Melbourne (preferred), Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Perth, or Sydney.
