Overview
We are looking for a Senior Autonomous Site System Validation and Verification Engineer to join our team. An autonomous site system is comprised of multiple Hexagon products all successfully being upgraded and deployed to work together enabling site level autonomous operations. The Senior Validation and Verification Engineer, reporting to the Director of Engineering for By-Wire and Autonomous Systems, is a strategic role responsible for establishing, coordinating, and ensuring on time execution of the V&V activities across multiple autonomous product development teams encompassing V&V sites all over the globe. You will work with product validation and verification leaders, engineering managers, chief engineers, systems engineers, and field follow engineers across multiple teams to ensure a cohesive validation and verification plan is established, executed, and adjusted as necessary.
The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position will coordinate with teams across the globe including the Mid-West United States, Canada, Brazil, Western Australia, Switzerland, and more.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Autonomous Site System Validation and Verification Engineer, you will:
1. Assist with the establishment of validation and verification strategies to ensure all Hexagon products used in the autonomous site system function as required
2. Write autonomous site system validation and verification plans for site system features that require interconnection between multiple products
3. Contribute to collaborative discussion with product V&V teams to review and align on a cohesive V&V strategy. This strategy includes alignment of team ownership for specific tests, resources required, test locations, and types of tests (HIL, SIL, On Vehicle, Engineering Bench, etc)
4. Contribute to V&V strategies and specific plans to ensure customer statement of work requirements are met
5. Contribute to regulatory compliance and robustness test strategies across product V&V teams
6. Integrate functional safety testing requirements into the overall autonomous site system V&V strategy
7. Track, coordinate, and regularly communicate progress of autonomous site system V&V execution plans to project management and leadership throughout the organization
8. Travel up to 10% of the time to various test locations
9. Influence overall test strategy by helping define system test requirements
10. Proactively and regularly communicate with the project team to update on validation status
11. Writing manual and automated test scripts.
12. Running test scripts and making recommendations for design or process modification based on test results
13. Report generation to provide assurance that all critical aspects have been tested and validated
14. Maintain procedures, policies, and documents for validation activities
15. Acts independently with minimal supervision to conduct validation studies.
16. Identify process improvement opportunities and equipment needs for validation/testing
17. Be open to a flexible and fluid work environment.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
18. Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
19. Extensive experience in an engineering related discipline, specifically in product Verification and Validation

20. Experience writing highly technical test plans against written requirements (Verification) and experience establishing test plans to ensure products are ultimately fit for purpose regardless of the written requirements (Validation)

22. Business maturity and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the company and customers by exhibiting excellent interpersonal skills
23. Ability to create repeatable processes and procedures
Nice-to-Have:
24. Direct experience with V&V activities for autonomous site systems and autonomous vehicles
25. Experience leading V&V teams specifically in autonomous products
26. Direct experience executing V&V testing using: data acquisition equipment(Vector tools, National Instruments tools, Somat Edaq), CAN Bus Communication (OBDII, J1939), MATLab / Simulink, HIL Equipment (Dspace), SIL Software (TruckSim), JIRA, and Agile workflows
27. Experience with V&V activities for hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic motor actuation
28. Experience leading design activities to build tools used for V&V activities. For example, leading a design for an test cell to execute endurance hours for components
