Mechanical Process Improvement Coordinator
We are seeking an Engineering specialist to join our Mount Gambier Engineering team in the role of Mechanical Process Improvement Coordinator.
About the Role
We are growing rapidly at our Mt Gambier facility with a major construction development taking place over the next 5-7 years with ongoing work beyond that.
This is a full-time, permanent position that requires an experienced and driven Engineering specialist to continuously monitor the performance of the plant control systems, identify solutions to technical issues, and identify improvement opportunities within the existing process through optimizing line speed, efficiency, productivity, whilst delivering a quality final product.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, plan, and implement key process improvement opportunities
* Drive improvements in line efficiencies and productivity targets
* Collaborate with the Production teams to analyze performance data, identifying continuous improvement opportunities
* Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives designed to eliminate waste, non-value added activities, and improve performance across safety, quality, line speed, efficiency, productivity, and costs
* Lead engineering projects as part of project teams that manage project governance, technical, procurement, material, construction, design coordination, start-up, and close out
* Complete drawings, instructions, and specifications for projects where required
* Provide technical support for the team
* Supervise and provide coaching and development to apprentices
About You
As our preferred candidate, you will have:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience within the engineering field, preferably working in a timber, timber fibre, manufacturing, or heavy industry environment
* Excellent leadership skills, ideally supervisory experience in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment
* Proven experience in providing engineering expertise on diverse projects, including the installation of production processing machinery
* Effective communication and relationship-building skills
* Strong time management and organizational skills
* High technical and analytical skills
* Strong numeric, oral, and written skills
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards, and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, and environmental assessment for the implementation of engineering projects
* Familiarity with continuous improvement techniques (e.g. Lean, TPM, Kaizen)
* Demonstrated change management and transformation experience
