Job Description: Network Architect/SME We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Architect/Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures. This position requires proficiency in Cisco Switches, Arsita Switches, Data Center Technologies, Fortigate firewalls, Azure Cloud Networking, and F5 Load Balancers. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network systems. Responsibilities Network Design and Architecture: Develop comprehensive network designs that meet business requirements and industry standards. Architect scalable and resilient network solutions for data centers, cloud environments, and enterprise networks. Implementation and Configuration : Lead the implementation and configuration of network hardware and software, including Cisco Switches, Arsita Switches, FortiGate firewalls, and F5 Load Balancers. Ensure optimal performance and security. Routing & Switching Protocols: Expert-level proficiency with routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, STP, VTP, EtherChannel). Implement, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise-level routing and switching infrastructure. Optimize network performance using advanced protocols and technology solutions. Azure Cloud Networking : Design and manage network solutions within the Azure Cloud environment. Collaborate with cloud engineers to integrate on-premises and cloud networks seamlessly. Data Center Technologies : Oversee the deployment and maintenance of data center technologies, ensuring high availability and redundancy. Implement best practices for data center networking. Security Management: Configure and manage Fortigate firewalls, ensuring robust security policies and practices. Monitor network security and respond to incidents promptly. Load Balancing : Optimize network traffic using F5 Load Balancers. Implement load balancing strategies to enhance application performance and reliability. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Provide regular reports on network performance, capacity, and security posture. Technical Leadership : Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers. Lead technical discussions and strategy sessions. Troubleshooting and Support: Address network issues promptly and efficiently. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CCIE, Azure Solutions Architect) are highly desirable. Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in network architecture and engineering roles. Proven track record of designing and managing complex network infrastructures. Technical Skills Expertise in Cisco Switches and Arsita Switches. Strong knowledge of Data Center Technologies and best practices. Proficiency in configuring and managing FortiGate firewalls. Experience with Azure Cloud Networking and cloud integration. Skilled in deploying and optimizing F5 Load Balancers. Additional Requirements Security Clearance Requirement : Given the secure nature of this role, we are seeking candidates who are Australian Citizens with an active security clearance or are eligible for obtaining security clearance. This requirement ensures that all team members are cleared to handle sensitive information and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of security in our operations. On-call and Shift Expectations: This position is primarily focused on managed services, meaning you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our clients' IT systems (Applications and Infrastructure). Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you may be required to work in shifts to provide continuous support. Additionally, you may need to be on call to address incidents promptly and perform after-hours deployment activities as needed. Your ability to effectively manage these responsibilities will be crucial to ensuring the seamless operation of our services and client satisfaction.
