This position manages the CADET Trials, two double-blind placebo-controlled studies exploring the efficacy of adjunctive use of an old commonly used blood pressure medication for the treatment of depression in bipolar disorder (CADET-BD) and major depressive disorder (CADET-UD). Responsibilities include managing trial site operations, coordinating ethics and governance amendments and reporting, maintaining data integrity for the trials, identifying potential risks and creating management plans, developing standard operating procedures, and serving as the primary contact for site operations, investigators, and the steering committee. The investigator-initiated trials are funded by MRFF and NHMRC grants.
As a Clinical Trial Manager, you will: Be responsible for project management and coordination of all aspects of the CADET trials including maintaining storage of pathology samples, budget management and site start-up activities, and ensuring safety of participants throughout the trials. Oversee clinical trial operations at multiple trial sites, conduct monitoring, and ensure that the site is adequately equipped and compliant with study procedures and protocols. Ensure the trial is conducted in full compliance with Australia's clinical trial regulations, ethical standards, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Identify, generate, and coordinate ethics and governance amendments and reporting. Independently conduct regular reviews to identify quality assurance processes to allow the highest data identification of potential risks and create and implement management plans. Be responsible for maintaining data integrity for the trials, including data cleaning. Chair regular meetings with site staff and Investigators. Provide regular reports and manage all communications pertaining to project progress with stakeholders and project teams including national and international partners. Train and manage research personnel in clinical trial practices and psychiatric scales. Lead the development of plans for recruitment of participants to meet milestones. To be successful, you'll have: Proven experience in conducting and managing clinical trials. Academic qualifications in psychology, nursing, or a biomedical discipline. Proven experience in managing stakeholder relationships. A strong background in biomedical research. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
