Job Description
Reporting to the Sous Chef, key responsibilities include:
Summary of Responsibilities:
* Deliver exceptional, proactive guest service while supporting colleagues
* Demonstrate Fairmont core values in all interactions
* Ensure menu consistency, preparation, and presentation according to hotel standards
* Contribute to improving food quality and presentations
* Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and equipment upkeep
* Participate in daily shift briefings and contribute ideas and suggestions
* Liaise with Outlet Chefs for open communication regarding guest feedback
* Foster compliance with corporate, hotel, and departmental policies and procedures
* Support hotel committees and adhere to Health & Safety guidelines and work practices
* Perform additional duties within your department as required
Qualifications:
* At least three years of general culinary experience in a luxury hotel environment
* Documented culinary certification (Red Seal certificate or equivalent) is strongly preferred
* International experience is preferred
* Demonstrated creative culinary skills are required
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential
* Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work cohesively as part of a multi-cultural team
* Computer literacy in MS Office applications is an asset
* Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work shifts, extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays is required
