The Palmier is a leading boutique floral design studio, specialising in, but not exclusive to, real flowers, dried and preserved to last.
We are passionate about producing high-end, bespoke work, from unique home floral styling to large events and installations. We always look to produce unique designs that are timeless and let the beauty of the florals do the talking.
We are currently looking to expand our team to meet the demands of our growing high-profile client base and would love to bring on a floral creative to join our small but mighty team. We have created for brands such as Miu Miu, Country Road, Viktoria & Woods, Gurner, Lululemon, Rachel Gilbert, and Workclub global to name a few so you will be part of a team that regularly creates for elite brands and events.
The role will be based in our beautiful, light-filled Port Melbourne studio and will entail involvement in several aspects of the business including:
* Operations of our retail store which includes having a strong ability to create unique floral pieces, making recommendations for floral styling in the home / for all clients. The retail store also involves confidence in relational skills with customers, selling unique high-end homewares and assisting customers with floral choices for gifting and home decor.
* Fulfilling and creating for our online orders.
* Growing and creating for our corporate / subscription portfolio.
* Involvement in events and installations.
* Assisting in the operation of floral styling workshops (dried and preserved flowers).
* General operations of the business.
Whilst we specialise in preserved, we do not exclude the opportunity to work with fresh when requested by our clients and are always looking to incorporate more fresh into our event work and retail store, so if you are experienced in fresh this is a bonus. There are several other avenues that we are currently working on behind the scenes and see this position as a role for a creative to assist in not only showing their talents but playing a key role in helping grow the business portfolio with growth opportunities for management and a full time role.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience in floristry with examples of past work (we will always consider those with less experience or beginners that show real talent in their work and enthusiasm to learn and grow, as well as experienced florists looking for a change).
* Ability to work across multiple avenues in the business.
* Approachable, honest, vibrant and someone who will bring the energy to our team.
* Confidence in dealing with high-profile clients and brands.
* Available for regular Saturday weekend work (10am-2pm) in our Port Melbourne store as well as some weekday shifts between Wed - Fri 10-3pm (hours may change). For the right candidate we would be interested in offering more hours however days and hours can be subject to discussion.
* Able to confidently use tech (Shopify and Square terminals) (teachable).
* An overall passion for all things nature, flowers and a determined willingness to produce the best always.
If this role sounds like it describes your next floral journey, then get applying because we can’t wait to meet you!
