The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. The opportunity The Project Safety Advisor will be responsible for attending project construction sites and carrying out site safety observations, the ongoing implementation of the VHBA Safety Incident Management Systems and for the management of the development, adoption and maintenance of best practice safety management systems, procedures and communications across VHBA's broad health infrastructure construction program. This position requires a strong working knowledge of construction related safety management systems, safety legislation and experience in engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and ensure successful delivery of key health and safety initiatives and programs. You will assist with system analytics, including analysis of contractor safety performance Excellent communication and organisational skills and a strong ability to influence a broad range of stakeholders are vital, as a significant amount of time will be spent liaising with contractors on site. What we are looking for: Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying Occupational Health and Safety legislation to provide technical safety advice to a variety of stakeholders Demonstrated experience defining, scoping, planning and project managing improvement programs and initiatives to improve health and safety Strong working proficiency of Safety Incident Management Systems (SIMS) and standard office-based software and extensive experience in drafting and preparing documentation Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to evaluate projects and issues Outstanding organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to determine priorities and manage stakeholders in an environment of tight and conflicting deadlines To view the full requirements please download a copy of the Position Description.
