There is a guarantee of 8.0 hours of work per week with potentially extra hours available during certain weeks of the school term. Please keep in mind that Foci Education is closed during the NSW school holidays.The indicative base pay hourly rate for this position is A$32-A$72 per hour, however individual qualifications and experiences will determine the final rate prior to starting.Valid and current Working With Children’s Check (WWCC)You are in, at least, your second year of your Bachelor of Arts degree (majoring in a humanities subject) and/or a Bachelor's degree in Education (either Primary or Secondary) or you have already graduated from university.You have an agility to learn new products and features with an interest in technology, particularly Apple, Microsoft and Google products (e.g. Numbers/Sheet/Excel; Pages/Google Docs/Microsoft Word; and Keynote, Google Slides and Microsoft PowerPoint).You have a keen eye for detail in reviewing lesson plans, but also a passion for delivering content and lessons in an engaging manner.You are scrupulous, consistent and sensitive when it comes to giving marked feedback to students.You have an eye for crafting lesson plans and writing content that is informed, and in line with Foci Education’s brand identity and ethos.Ability to deliver great customer experiences in any environment and to be invigorated by constant personal interaction whether it be via email, over the phone, or in-person — for instance, onboarding new students and liaising with parents about results or overdue payments.Strong communication skills that let you converse as freely and comfortably with small groups of students in a teaching capacity to deliver a memorable teaching experience, as well as with colleagues to build and strengthen professional rapports.Demonstrate a capacity to remain professional and level-headed when liaising with vendors (whenever rarely needed).About YouAs an English tutor (K-10), most of the work you perform will involve you working directly with students at Foci Education - in particular our K-10 students. The bulk of your roles will include preparing and delivering tutorials to a selection of our students, with a smaller portion of your role being administrative in nature. That said, there is opportunity to grow into a direct managerial role for the right applicant with remuneration in the business to match the increased responsibilities.Always curious and attentive, you’ll develop a deep care to help our students achieve academic success in the capacities they are capable of, and perhaps even help them with realising their untapped academic and personal potential as young professionals. While you will work with a cohort of very capable and gifted students, you will also have the opportunity to infrequently work with students who come from diverse family backgrounds (such as those with learning difficulties and/or language barriers).
