Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work of medium to high complexity as per work instructions and ABB guidelines. Each day, you will deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. You will also showcase your expertise by working with customers to identify opportunities in the installed base, to improve system performance and operational performance. The work model for the role is: Remote #LI-Remote. The role will be based on the East Coast of Australia (with a preference for Melbourne). This role is contributing to the Process Industries business. You will be responsible for ABB installed base of Pulp & Paper Quality Control Systems (QCS) in Australia with a 50% shared responsibility to the South-East Asia region.
You will be mainly accountable for:
1. Servicing, troubleshooting & inspecting a variety of ABB QCS systems.
2. Maintaining the Solution Architecture of all existing systems, performing proactive maintenance, working with the sales team to offer upgrades and expansions, and assisting in defining the architecture of new projects.
3. Providing technical support to customers, remotely and on site. Troubleshooting complex technical issues and making recommendations for future improvements.
4. Acting as subject matter expert for ABB extended solutions (i.e., Profile Historian, Paper Quality Performance) in translating measurement data from sensors and scanners into actionable insights, helping operators and managers make informed decisions on product quality improvement and operational efficiency.
5. Coaching technicians and engineers and supervising complex site activities.

Qualifications for the role
* Ability to demonstrate your technical experience in Pulp & Paper QCS, including but not limited to control systems, scanners and sensors, actuators, and profilers.
* You are innovative around problem-solving and able to diagnose root causes of issues, select suitable solutions to problems, as well as identifying preventive actions.
* Engineering Degree majoring in Software, Control Systems, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar. Candidates who also have experience in ABB DCS Systems will be viewed favorably, due to their ability to work on both ABB QCS and DCS (e.g., AC800M, 800xA, AC450, INFI90 Harmony, MOD300 or similar).
* Ability to travel throughout Australia and South-East Asia.
* You are at ease communicating in English.
