An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, motivated and passionate Sonographer to join Lumus Imaging at Mercy public hospital in Werribee as Tutor Sonographer. This is a great opportunity for an experienced sonographer to pass on their wealth of knowledge, expertise and skills by mentoring, training and supporting their co-workers in the training, and upskilling of trainee sonographers, junior sonographers, and experienced sonographers.
This role is suitable to an experienced sonographer who is looking to make a real difference in growing what is already a large corporate imaging practice in Australia and make a significant impact in the companies culture in Victoria.
Werribee Mercy Hospital, located just 25 km west of Melbourne on the Princes Highway, is a dynamic public general hospital offering a wide range of services, including surgical, maternity, orthopaedic, and a 24-hour emergency department. Since opening in January 1994, the hospital has grown rapidly to meet the needs of Melbourne's fast-growing western suburbs. A new emergency department is currently underway with a view to have it completed late 2026, The expansion will increase treatment spaces from 33 to 67. This includes four new resuscitation bays, 16 short stay beds and 36 emergency care cubicles to care for a rapidly growing population.
Key Responsibilities Mentor, train, and support trainee and junior sonographers. Develop and deliver sonographer training programs. Provide continuing professional development (CPD) for sonographers. Utilize the latest technology and systems in ultrasound imaging. Collaborate with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals. Qualifications Qualified Sonographer with extensive experience in ultrasound imaging; musculoskeletal, vascular, general, obstetrics and interventional. ASAR Accreditation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage a team and work within a team environment. A strong commitment to quality and patient care - essential.
