Stephen Island Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC) is a small, community-focused health facility located on Stephen Island, part of the Torres Strait Islands in Queensland, Australia. The health center provides essential services, including primary care, emergency response, chronic disease management, and health education to local residents. Due to its remote location, Stephen Island PHCC primarily operates as an outpatient facility without a traditional hospital bed setup, though it is equipped to stabilize patients for transfer to larger facilities if needed.
Fun Fact:
Stephen Island, also known by its traditional name Ugar, is known for its stunning coral reefs and is part of the Torres Strait's vibrant seafaring culture.
