Gymnastics Queensland serves as the governing body for gymnastics in the state, representing 58,000 members across 7 Gymsports and 123 clubs in 148 venues. About the Role Position: Full-Time (38 hours per week)Location: Gymnastics Queensland Head Office, Sleeman Sports Complex, Chandler, BrisbaneEvent Coverage: Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and Gold Coast
As the Championship Events Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and hands-on delivery of high-quality State-level events (Category 1) across all Gymsports, including MAG, WAG, RG, TRP, ACR, AER, and GfA. Your role will ensure these events:
Showcase each Gymsport positively.Align with budgets and technical requirements.Meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.What We're Looking For We're seeking a passionate and detail-oriented events professional with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Your proven track record in hands-on event management demonstrates your ability to:
Oversee complex logistics and coordinate diverse stakeholders.Adapt to unexpected challenges with a solution-focused mindset.Deliver high-quality events that meet all technical and financial requirements.Key Attributes Collaborative and customer-focused mindset.Effective time management and prioritization skills.Resilience and calmness under pressure.Strong communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders.Passion for delivering outstanding events across all Gymsports.Experience, Qualifications & Skills Tertiary qualifications in event management, business, sport management, or a related field.Proven experience in event delivery, including working with volunteers and technical officials.Experience managing employees and collaborating with clubs.Knowledge of gymnastics or sporting events is advantageous.Mandatory Requirements Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle.Current Blue Card (or willingness to obtain one).Our Commitment to Child Safety Gymnastics Queensland is dedicated to protecting children from harm and fostering a child-safe culture.
