Specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologist/s - Complex Care
Western Health are seeking a Fractional Specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologist/s with a specialist interest in pregnant women with complex psychosocial issues including substance/alcohol use, severe mental health and/or incarceration.
The Consultant Obstetrician will play a key role in the implementation and establishment of a new model of care for women with complex care needs.
Initially, the model will focus on pregnancy care provided through a multidisciplinary clinic held every Friday.
As a leader of the complex care team, you will work collaboratively with the Complex Care AMUM, midwives, obstetricians, social workers, mental health workers, alcohol and drug specialists and legal to provide comprehensive, safe care to this specific group of women with complex co-morbidities.
This role will provide clinical support, training and supervision to the multidisciplinary team including the supervision and training of Junior Medical Staff and support Western Health Strategic Priorities.
To be Successful in this Role, you will:
Hold the relevant medical qualification - FRANZCOG Current Australian medical registration with AHPRA Relevant clinical experience and clinical competence required for level of position Previous experience in caring for women with complex psychosocial history including the management of women affected by drug and alcohol use Demonstrated understanding of the harms associated with drug and alcohol use in pregnancy Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team Effective organisational skills, with respect to time management and delegation Well-developed written and verbal communication skills Displays and expresses a high level of ethics in regard to patients, colleagues and the organisation Demonstrates skill and maturity in problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution Demonstrates ability to make decisions and support rationale, clearly communicate decisions to relevant parties Maintains confidentiality of patient, institutional and employee information Commitment to professional development Analyses own performance in accordance with position expectations.
Develops goals and implements a plan to meet those goals.
