Tasmanian Irrigation’s promise to our irrigator customers is to “provide irrigators reliable and consistent water at the lowest sustainable price while responsibly and sustainably managing our water resources, scheme assets and the environment.”The Company also oversees development of irrigation schemes, funded through a unique public/private partnership model.Tasmanian Irrigation now oversees 26,000 individual infrastructure assets with a replacement value of approximately $500 million and has the capacity to deliver more than 151,000 megalitres of irrigation water each year.All schemes developed and operated by Tasmanian Irrigation are economically viable, environmentally sustainable, have strong community endorsement, are designed to last at least 100 years and deliver water at an average reliability of more than 95 per cent per annum.ABOUT THE ROLETasmanian Irrigation is searching for a Commercial Analyst to join our Corporate Services Team. This position plays a key role in supporting the organisation through comprehensive financial, commercial, and economic analysis, enabling effective decision-making and strategic planning.The role involves analysing irrigation scheme operations, corporate expenses, utilities, and other key business areas, while also developing Power BI and Excel reporting functions to support the business's activities. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities for pricing administration, budgeting, sustainability requirements, and contract management.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEEDCollate, reconcile and analyse data for forecasting, financial, and economic modelling.Provide insightful recommendations to management on business performance.Support pricing administration and present at Irrigator Representative Committee (IRC) meetings.Assist with utilities contract management and commercial negotiations.Prepare reports on budgets, KPIs, and corporate planning.Develop and improve systems, processes, and procedures for operational efficiency, specifically within Power BI and Excel.The successful Commercial Analyst will have:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to distil complex data into actionable insights.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience producing high-level reports for a range of audiences.Demonstrated financial and economic modelling expertise, preferably within Power BI and Excel.Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.CA or CPA qualification with experience in a commercial environment.Knowledge of the utilities industry.WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURNTasmanian Irrigation is committed to a safe, diverse, and inclusive workforce.
