Who are we looking for?
We're looking for an experienced Lead Engineer / Technical Director Water to join our Water Team in Townsville. You’ll be able to draw on our Northern Australia regional team as well as global specialist network, who have decades of experience to create positive water outcomes that respect nature and nurture communities.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
1. Managing and delivering high quality technical outcomes as part of a team, including investigation, analysis and design tasks to support water and wastewater systems planning and design
2. Contributing to multi-disciplinary teams delivering major infrastructure projects and providing water and wastewater infrastructure related services
3. Working with our clients to deliver sustainable water and wastewater system solutions
4. Contributing to winning work and market-led innovative offerings
5. All of the above across the NT, Northern Queensland and beyond.
What you will bring to the team :
6. Relevant Civil or Mechanical Engineering Degree and have attained, or be eligible for Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status
7. Ideally a minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role
8. Demonstrated skills and experience in the design of water and wastewater infrastructure, including water and wastewater treatment, steady state system hydraulic calculations, pump sizing & selection and pipeline design. Transient modelling experience is considered to be an advantage
9. Experience with Industry Standards, Australian Standards and Client Standards for Piping and Mechanical Water and Wastewater Design
10. Desirable Experience with Industry standard software packages, such as Bentley WaterCAD & Hammer, Caesar II, etc. (desirable)
11. An eagerness to undertake project management tasks and roles, with the ability to develop your career in our team.
