The RoleA family operation based on 14,000 acres at Berriwillock grows a variety of broadacre crops including Wheat, Barley, Lentils and Peas with 600 acres producing hay for the export market. The close-knit family-based team of six plus additional harvest staff is excited to welcome a new member to the team to assist in all facets of the operation, preferably with previous experience in a similar role.Candidates will need to be comfortable spending much of their time operating machinery to carry out all elements of the cropping cycle. The impressive modern, predominantly CASE, fleet including two 9250 Headers, Steiger 400s and 600s, and a 4450 Patriot Sprayer with a 135-foot boom is joining the fleet soon amongst others, and all are maintained by staff, making mechanical aptitude and general fabrication skills advantageous. As with any contemporary business, it is imperative to be meticulous at record keeping especially regarding fertilisers and other chemicals utilised.Overall, a passion for agriculture, particularly cropping with a willingness to learn is desired as you will be working directly with the owners who are supportive in providing training opportunities – both formal and informal, to ensure all employees have the skills and knowledge required to succeed in their business.The OfferAn attractive remuneration will be negotiated with the successful applicant along with a work vehicle.
