Quality Assurance & Control (Construction) Australia Wide is looking for a Quality Assurance Assessor to join our client, a leading producer of high-quality mechanical components for the defence industry. The Quality Assurance Assessor will be responsible for assuring consistent production quality and conducting thorough inspections of both in-house and outsourced mechanical items. Quality Assurance Assessor Permanent position Potential for growth 2pm to 10.30pm Afternoon shift Carrum Downs Location Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Assessor will be responsible for assuring consistent production quality and conducting thorough inspections of both in-house and outsourced mechanical items. Key Responsibilities: Operate within company quality standards to ensure compliance in the production area. Develop and maintain a robust Quality Management System to meet customer requirements. Create In Process Inspection Plans (IPC) for in-house produced mechanical items. Conduct inspections of mechanical items, verifying conformity against drawings and models. Perform first-off and periodic inspections, documenting results in work orders. Review and escalate non-conformance reports and concessions. Oversee the packaging and dispatching of goods produced in-house. Load and operate Horizontal and Vertical Machine Centres. Utilise Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and measuring arms for quality assurance. Collaborate with the production team and perform additional factory duties as needed. Qualifications: AGSVA clearance: (Australian citizenship required) Minimum Certificate III in Engineering with at least 5 years of post-trade experience. Experience in mechanical assembly, prototyping, and 3D modelling (preferably SolidWorks). Meticulous attention to detail and strong hand/eye coordination. Proficient in manual machining, working with aluminium, fitting, fabrication, and advanced measuring tools. Competent in Microsoft applications (Excel/Word) at an intermediate level. Experience with Statistical Process Control. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
