No. 102870Mount Isa Mines Copper Operations are currently seeking a suitably qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer to work in the MICO Hoisting department. This is a great career opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to widen their knowledge and expand their leadership capacity. This is a residential position based in Mount Isa, working a 9 -Day Fortnight, day shift only roster.The successful candidate will be responsible for: Technical stewardship of the MICO Winder Infrastructure mechanical aspects Identification, management and resolution of safety and production risks. Ability to provide expert knowledge and identify engineering solutions in relation to hoisting and other mechanical infrastructure Statutory compliance You will have the following skillset and attributes: Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering Previous experience in mentoring and development of personnel High knowledge base of Australian standards for surface and underground fixed plant Minimum of five years underground and surface fixed plant equipment experience Previous experience with vertical mining shafts and hoists is essential Proficiency and demonstrated experience in Project Management Proficiency in RCM and condition monitoring based maintenance practices Experience with Reliability Engineering metrics and techniques such as Failure Modes Effects and Analysis will be desirable Highly developed computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience (AutoCad/SolidWorks) and excellent formal written communication We’re looking to attract and retain talented people, so we focus on what’s important, you.
