You will work in a safe and inclusive manner that reflects our Southern Cross Care Better for life model to provide person centred care and support.Daily duties in this role include but are not limited to:Provide strong leadership to staff to ensure a work culture that embeds individual performance, accountability and respectful working relationships with others.Effectively supervise, guide, support and train Housekeeping Services staff.Promotes and role models organisational values and strives for excellence in customer service and person-centred care.Assists with the rostering of Cleaners, Porters & Laundry staff.Regularly update, inform and ensure that the Residential Services Manager is aware of any changes, incidents or other matters relating to the Housekeeping Services.Working positively and collaboratively with other staff to provide person centred safe and effective cleaning services and supports.Supporting and mentoring new housekeeping staff as well as assisting other cleaning staff as required.Reporting any risks that have the potential to cause an accident or injury.About YouWe are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:At least 1 year experience in the supervision and coordination of staff.Previous cleaning experience in a commercial role.Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.The ability to read written instructions and speak in a manner that older people can understand.Excellent time management skills to manage your workload without direct supervision in order to complete tasks within the allocated time.A good understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours.A basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards as are applicable to the role.About UsSouthern Cross Care is one of Australia’s leading charitable aged care, health and retirement living service providers.
