Dobmac Agricultural Machinery is a locally owned and operated business, specialising in the design, manufacture, supply, and service of agricultural and packing machinery throughout Australia and New Zealand.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workshop Manager to lead the workshop at our Ulverstone premises. This is a permanent position for someone who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
About The Role:
As Workshop Manager, you will be a key leader in the production process, ensuring our busy workshop operates efficiently and meets the highest quality standards. Reporting to senior management, you will oversee the delivery of projects, both onsite and offsite, that directly contribute to the success of Dobmac’s innovative machinery solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and drive productivity, ensuring workshop staff meet responsibilities and are accountable.
* Manage daily workshop operations, including people management, scheduling, timesheets, materials, and job tracking.
* Coordinate service work both in the workshop and onsite across Australia and New Zealand together with the Workshop & Service Coordinator.
* Deliver projects efficiently, safely, and to high-quality standards.
* Build and maintain client relationships, addressing queries and growing existing partnerships.
* Continuously improve workshop practices and processes.
* Maintain a safe, compliant workshop environment.
* Mentor and motivate the team, promoting excellence and efficiency.
* Support quoting and estimating for services, repairs, and jobs.
* Manage final documentation and reporting for workshop activities.
About You:
We are looking for a dynamic professional with proven experience in managing fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering workshops. Your leadership skills and ability to optimise production processes will be critical to your success in this role.

* Demonstrated experience in workshop management, with a track record of delivering results under pressure.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage staff, set expectations, and drive performance.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic workshop environment.
* A passion for continuous improvement, with a focus on efficiency and innovation.
* High level of computer literacy, particularly in planning, scheduling, and job tracking software particularly MYOB Advanced, Outlook, Excel and Word.
* Knowledge of the agricultural or manufacturing industries is highly desirable.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused, solutions-driven approach.
* Current manual motor vehicle and forklift licences are required.
