With solid growth over the last few years underpinning further expansion, we are now looking to engage a GIS Specialist Manager.
A key focus is to continue to expand their GIS offering and bring key leadership experience to support growth, team optimisation and service delivery.
About the role : As the successful candidate you will manage the team of GIS staff, leading the way and supporting their work.
Working closely with GIS Principal and the Managing Director, supported by a dedicated team, the GIS Specialist Manager will help drive outcomes across the business and further develop the GIS, remote sensing and photogrammetry service offering and capability of the team.
This newly created position offers an exciting opportunity to become part of a well-established and recognised consultancy with a highly developed client base and team of professionals working on an exciting array of projects across the country.
About you : You will possess a dedicated background in GIS and remote sensing with relevant GIS and managerial industry experience, ideally within related fields of geospatial and geospatial project management.
You will have the ability to integrate with a multidisciplinary team coupled with taking on responsibility for contributing to commercial business outcomes.
Key role responsibilities : Act as a Specialist Geospatial Consultant, providing expertise in geospatial data management and Geospatial services.Lead the delivery of the GIS components in Cultural Heritage projects, managing the requirements, schedules, and the coordination of work.Maintain close collaboration with multiple field teams, strategic technical partnerships, and colleagues for ongoing improvements in the GIS system and associated processes.Manage the implementation of new technologies, data delivery systems, data integrations, and 3D modelling services with the Company.Provide expert advice on geospatial data integrations, automations, and data management methodologies.Manage up to 10 direct reports, including overseeing general HR requirements in consultation with the HR Manager and Geospatial Principal.Requirements for the role : Advanced Tertiary Degree in Geospatial Sciences.Relevant experience in Geospatial roles and exposure to Geospatial project management.Demonstrated leadership skills.Must be skilled in cross-discipline integration and would be advantageous to have in-depth knowledge of Cultural Heritage.Must have a proven record of project coordination and delivery.Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with personnel on all levels.Ability to engage and influence stakeholders to define and implement key Geospatial workflows to meet project requirements.Knowledge of remote sensing techniques including the collection of and processing of Hyperspectral and GPR data is desirable but not essential.Proven ability to manage complex workflows to ensure successful delivery of multiple, simultaneous projects from team members.Advanced problem-solving skills and track record of being solution orientated.The ability to implement our GIS systems, and work with Principal (Geospatial) to develop innovative research and community engagement programs.Adhere to the Quality and Data Management system requirements.A high commitment to workplace health and safety and the use of safe work systems.Ability to understand and apply appropriate aspects of ESRI GIS products.Must have full Australian work rights.This is an office-based position located in Brisbane and cannot be remotely located.What the role is offering : This role offers a highly competitive market salary package coupled with a bonus and the ability to work with an experienced and highly skilled group.
