The Position:
1. Lead and manage the catering team, ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen and dining operations
2. Deliver catering services and menu as per contractual commitments
3. Develop and create diverse and nutritious menus in accordance that cater to various dietary requirements, including periodical menu planning and implementation
4. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain high standards of quality and hygiene
5. Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and controlling food costs
6. Train and mentor catering team members to foster a positive and productive work environment
7. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards
8. Work closely with village managers to meet client expectations and execute special events or themed meals

Minimum Criteria:
16. Ability to undertake regular travel to site on a DIDO/FIFO roster
17. Ability to work in a remote and physically demanding environment
18. Experience in bulk cooking, high-volume catering or remote village operations is preferred
19. Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef, preferably in high-volume catering environment
20. Ability to work to client expectations and adapt menus accordingly
21. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
22. Exceptional culinary skills with a creative flair for menu development in a bulk cooking environment
23. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
24. A proactive and solutions-focused approach to ensure kitchen operations run smoothly
25. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
26. Strong knowledge and application of food safety and hygiene regulations
27. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (essential)
28. Safe Food Handling Certificate (desired)
29. Physically fit with the ability to successfully pass pre-employment medical requirements
