Management - Schools (Education & Training) Full time ABOUT THE ORGANISATION: Townsville Flexible School with campuses at Bowen and Burdekin is a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition. There are 25 Flexible Schools (FS) throughout Australia who offer a full-time and multiyear secondary education program for young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling. Enrolled young people may express a broad range of complex education and social needs and FS respond with a variety of flexible and innovative teaching and learning practices including vocational planning and the development of social connectedness. The purpose of a Flexible School is to provide young people with a varied and holistic set of learning experiences supporting them to identify and pursue an individual transition to adulthood, employment, further education and training and social connectedness. The Townsville FS was established in 2006 to meet the needs of the local community. In 2019 the Burdekin and Bowen Educational Engagement Programs were established after many years of local consultation. These new programs are campuses of the Townsville FS and run programs for grades 7-10. We are expected to grow from one class group to several in the next few years. ABOUT THE ROLE: Each Flexi School has a Head of Campus who has delegated responsibility from the Area Principal and Regional Director for the day-to-day management and leadership of the campus. The Head of Campus provides leadership and supervision to staff and the young people of the community, working collaboratively with the Area Principal, Regional Support Team members and other EREA Flexi Schools personnel as required. We are seeking a Head of Campus to join our community with a start date of 20 January 2025. You will be required to: Maintain and build effective working relationships with local custodians, local schools, government and non-government agencies, private providers and community members. Develop and implement learning choices (curriculum) which support the individual learning plans of each young person. Participate in program provision to ensure wellbeing in an inclusive learning environment. Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive school environment. Participate in professional development that is relevant to the work of the campus - this may include the need to travel to Townsville or Brisbane. Contribute to the accountability processes including, reporting, individual personal learning plans and requirements for NCCD. Work in and as part of a multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary supportive learning team. KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated capacity to lead an organisational culture that aligns with the Charter for Catholic Schools in the Edmund Rice Tradition and the social justice emphasis of Edmund Rice Education Australia. Capacity to lead a Flexi School culture that maintains fidelity to operation by principals (Respect, Safe and Legal, Participation and Honesty) through a Common Ground approach; Capacity for multidisciplinary leadership to manage human, financial and physical resources to deliver high quality outcomes; Demonstrated interpersonal skills that support a strong community focus both within and external to the school; Demonstrated capacity to provide leadership in trauma informed practice and wellbeing support that ensures that young people can achieve positive social outcomes and re-engagement in learning; Capacity to provide leadership in learning and pedagogy supporting the achievement of quality learning outcomes for all young people; Relevant teaching qualifications and have (or be prepared to undertake) post graduate qualifications in one of the following areas: Education, Social Services, Educational Leadership, or Theology; Be registered, or be eligible for registration, as a teacher in the state in which the school is located.
