About The Role
We are currently seeking a new Business Development Manager for the NSW region. Reporting to the Head of Sales – SELFCO, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day requirements and performance of a portfolio of Brokers. Your primary goal will be to develop and implement strategic initiatives, including tailored call plans and performance metrics, to ensure the consistent achievement of all sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) .
In this role, you will play a critical part in driving revenue growth, identifying new opportunities, and enhancing broker relationships through effective communication and support. You will collaborate closely with various internal teams, such as marketing, operations, and product management, to ensure alignment with company objectives and to provide Brokers with the resources and tools they need to succeed.
As this role requires frequent interaction with both external Brokers and internal stakeholders, you must possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to adapt to changing business priorities. The position also requires the flexibility to travel regularly in order to meet Brokers, attend meetings, and represent SELFCO at industry events or conferences, contributing to the company's visibility and market presence.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide coaching and training to the portfolio of Brokers, ensuring they have the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed and achieve budgeted settlement volumes.
* Develop an understanding of competitors’ products to highlight SELFCO’S points of difference to the current market as well as providing feedback to Management to develop and enhance SELFCO’S offering.
* Prepare relevant information to actively contribute to weekly sales meetings and provide business/market insights.
* Attend Aggregator and Industry functions and be recognised as the face of SELFCO Leasing in the Commercial Broker Market – in your allocated territory.
* Develop and execute strategic plans to call schedules to maximise performance and business growth.
* Track performance metrics and provide regular reports to the Head of Sales, offering insights on progress and areas for improvement.
* Oversee the development, morale, and well-being of all Brokers whilst building strong relationships to ensure ongoing engagement and satisfaction.
What you’ll bring to the table
Due to the high level of day-to-day external and internal interaction, the new Business Development Manager will require excellent inter-personal and people management skills as well as
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in dealing with Brokers and Commercial Broker Channels
* Extensive experience in Business Equipment Finance and Broker referred deals
* Obtain a strong network of Broker relationships in the market
* Have a strong understanding of Credit and Lending in the SME space.
* Must have a current Drivers Licence
* Tertiary qualification in Business or Finance is desirable
