Key Responsibilities:
1. Logistics Planning and Coordination:
o Develop and execute logistics plans to support program operations.
o Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
o Prepare and manage schedules for transporting goods, equipment, and supplies.
2. Inventory Management:
o Maintain accurate records of all inventory, supplies, and equipment.
o Oversee inventory control, ensuring adequate stock levels for operational needs.
o Conduct regular audits to track inventory and report discrepancies.
3. Supplier and Vendor Management:
o Liaise with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts, secure goods, and arrange deliveries.
o Develop strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing and reliability.
o Ensure all procurement processes comply with Human Appeal Australia’s standards.
4. Shipping and Documentation:
o Manage shipping and customs documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
o Track shipments to ensure timely delivery, resolve any delays or issues, and document receipt of goods.
o Maintain accurate records of all logistics-related documents and transactions.
5. Team Coordination and Support:
o Support field teams by providing logistical guidance, tools, and resources.
o Train and mentor junior logistics staff as needed.
o Communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.
6. Compliance and Reporting:
o Ensure logistics processes adhere to all regulatory, legal, and ethical guidelines.
o Generate regular reports on logistics activities, including inventory, shipping, and supplier performance.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
* 2+ years of experience in logistics, preferably in a humanitarian or non-profit organization.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
* Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
