About the role
The teacher will be responsible for organising and delivering engaging Mathematics units to international students within the Deakin College Foundation Program. This includes coordinating and creating learning materials, delivering lessons, providing academic support to students and supervision and marking of assignments and exams.
The Foundation Program is the equivalent of the VCE. Experience with VCE General Mathematics and Mathematical Methods would be desirable.
The person we seek will ideally have the following:
* A degree or diploma of at least three years full-time or equivalent
* Any of the following:
* Bachelor of Education,
* Diploma of Education,
* Diploma of Education Studies,
* 2-year teaching Certificate,
* 3-years of secondary or higher-education teaching experience in the relevant subject areas
* Experience in creating engaging and developmental learning materials for delivery of units
* Experience with using a learning management system to assist and enhance the delivery of subject content
* A comprehensive understanding of pathway programs and their articulation with university courses
* Demonstrated understanding of and empathy for a multicultural environment
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and initiate change.
* Demonstrated ability to work with changing priorities and meeting deadlines
