We are currently seeking a full-time Motor Mechanic to join our skilled team.
Location: Blacktown, Sydney, NSW
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per annum
Role: Full-time
The responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:
-Repair, maintain, and test motor vehicles and internal combustion engines, including mechanical and electrical systems such as transmissions, suspensions, steering, brakes, lighting, and fuel injection.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using both manual tools and computer-aided systems and communicate with vehicle operators to identify issues.
-Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tyre rotations, brake adjustments, fluid checks, tune-ups, and wheel alignments, ensuring compliance with pollution and safety regulations.
- Dismantle, inspect, and reassemble engine systems, transmissions, steering components, and other vehicle parts, replacing or repairing defective and worn-out components as needed.
- Install additional vehicle components and accessories, such as air conditioning units, driving lights, and other systems, based on client requests.
- Provide precise cost estimates for repairs and maintenance tasks, maintain clear logs of work performed, and ensure vehicles are roadworthy after repairs.
-Test and adjust repaired systems using specialized equipment or computers to ensure proper functionality before handing the vehicle over to the client.
-Deal with customers daily, explaining issues and repairs in an understandable manner, scheduling future maintenance, and providing advice on proper vehicle care.
To succeed in this role, you are required the following:
- Minimum Certificate III qualification in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or diploma in related field is required.
- At least one year of experience in a similar role is required.
- Enthusiastic and motivated individual.
- Friendly, positive & approachable attitude.
- Adherence to OH&S Regulations.
- Availability Mon-Sat.
Skills and Competencies:
- A deep understanding of motor vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems, is essential for diagnosing and repairing issues effectively.
-The ability to quickly identify, diagnose, and solve mechanical and electrical problems in vehicles using both manual and computer-aided tools.
-Ability to work independently and unsupervised
- Attention to Detail-Precision is crucial when inspecting, repairing, and replacing vehicle parts to ensure safety and functionality.
- Clear communication with customers and colleagues is important, particularly when explaining technical issues, repair processes, and providing estimates.
-Strong hand-eye coordination and physical ability to handle tools and vehicle components accurately and safely during repairs and maintenance.
