Reporting to the General Manager – HSTEQ this role will be responsible for ensuring effective management and leadership of the Safety, Compliance and Operational Training function within the organisation.This is a site-based role working across multiple sites within the Bown and Galilee Basins. The position is offered on a 4:3 roster with flexible travel and accommodation arrangements for the right candidate.Your responsibilities will include:Ensure site-based risk assessment processes, including safety, security, and emergency plans, are effective, regularly reviewed, and maintained.Lead, assist, and review incidents or investigations, including ICAM investigations into serious and high-potential events.Lead, participate in, and coach line leaders and other personnel in conducting effective safety observations, inspections, and audits to demonstrate visible safety leadership.Assist in developing and implementing risk management strategies in accordance with AS/NZS ISO 31000 Risk Management.Assist in developing and implementing AS/NZS ISO45001 OH&S management system to improve OH&S performance.Design and develop best practice training methods and materials for operational explosives employees.Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.Mentor shotfirers, providing guidance and support.Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to align on goals and objectives.Develop, update, and implement standards and procedures that reflect best practices and align with relevant legislation and regulations in consultation with management.About you:You will be meticulous in ensuring compliance with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions. Your willingness and initiative will see you successful in this position. You are a go-getter who can lead training and influence best practices among operational staff.In addition to this you will have:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Safety Management or a related field.
