Join to apply for the Delivery Manager role at Department of Transport and Main Roads.As the Delivery Manager, you will drive Digital Services tactical and operational initiatives and be responsible for managing the portfolio by advising, governing, monitoring, and reporting in line with organisational priorities. The role is key to progressing significant, complex, and varied ICT projects and BAU activities from ideation through to successful delivery. You will also engage with teams to assess and provide advice to Directors and senior management on resource planning and billing.The Delivery Manager reports to the Director, Digital Marketplace, Digital Services. This role may be required to undertake line management responsibilities and may also include the provision of after-hours support via on call and/or overtime arrangements.To Achieve This, You Will:Undertake a leadership role to drive the delivery management governance and process methodology and provide leadership and coaching to staff.Lead the coordination of initiatives, projects and deliver high-level communication and documentation to project sponsors and other key stakeholders ensuring they are briefed on objectives, milestones and progress through to acceptance, whilst always maintaining a customer/stakeholder focus.Scope, plan and manage the delivery of high-profile ICT or business change project/s. Recommend and establish project governance arrangements.Monitor, manage and control activities in accordance with agreed plans, including management of financial costs, risks and issues, and ensure that appropriate corrective actions are taken to deliver the initiatives and projects on time and to budget.Advise Project Boards of any deviations from plans that may exceed tolerances and provide recommendations on actions.Manage stakeholder relationships including communicating, negotiating and influencing various stakeholders to meet project objectives and deadlines.Demonstrate prior experience in managing a large and diverse portfolio of technical initiatives and experience establishing and managing governance frameworks and planning, within similar organisations.Demonstrate the ability to effectively lead a diverse project team.Influence and negotiate with stakeholders and other teams to achieve results and effectively communicate project requirements and outcomes, both in writing and verbally.Work collaboratively and effectively with the project team and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met.Act as a coach and facilitate staff development when required.Job Ad Reference: QLD/628071/25Closing Date: Tuesday, 8 April 2025Occupational group: IT & TelecommunicationsSeniority level: Not ApplicableEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Management and ManufacturingIndustries: Government Administration
