The Role
As a Junior Software Developer at Thomax, you will work closely with our Senior Implementation Consultants to develop innovative solutions for the warehousing sector. Under their guidance, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience, contribute to exciting projects, and help optimise our customers' logistics operations using our cutting-edge technology.

What You’ll Do:
* Work alongside Project Delivery Team to design, develop, and implement software solutions tailored to the needs of our warehousing clients.
* Gain hands-on experience in the latest cloud technologies and logistics software, with mentorship from experienced professionals.
* Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for various projects, ensuring high performance and responsiveness of applications.
* Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading existing systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
* Contribute fresh ideas and perspectives to enhance our technology offerings and improve our clients' logistics operations.
What We’re Looking For:
* Recent graduate or early in your software developer journey.
* Previous knowledge or willing to learn the following:
* Working with advanced SQL queries and the ability to perform advanced data manipulation and aggregation.
* SQL optimisation techniques to ensure query performance and system scalability.
* API development and management, including RESTful and SOAP services.
* Experience with API gateways and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, API Keys).
* Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards and protocols, with the ability to implement and maintain EDI transactions and mappings.
* File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Secure FTP (SFTP), and other file transfer methodologies.
* Understanding of file transfer security and data encryption practices.
* Integrating systems across diverse platforms and environments, including cloud-based and on-premise solutions.
* Skills in data transformation and validation technologies including XSLT for XML data transformation.
* Data structures, software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall), and the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Strong skills in version control (e.g., Git), debugging, software testing (unit and integration tests), and CI/CD processes. Ability to collaborate effectively, interpret requirements, and transform them into functional software.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
* Recent graduate or early in your software developer journey.
* Experience working with PHP preferred.
* Experience working with Apache and MySQL preferred.
* Previous experience within the Warehousing, distribution and logistics domain in any capacity is a definite plus.
* Experience with various delivery methodologies, such as Agile, Waterfall or hybrid would come in handy.
Working concessions
* Whilst the usual work time is during normal business hours Monday through Friday, responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends to meet timelines agreed with the customers at times.
* Occasional Interstate and international travel might be required.
Successful applicant will need to provide a satisfactory national police check.
