Healing and growth are possible with the right support.At Strive, we’re building a team driven by purpose, and committed to delivering life-changing support with positive, lasting outcomes.About the Role:Strive Community Care provides therapeutic home environments for children and young people with histories of complex trauma, abuse and neglect.We are now looking for Casual and Permanent Part Time Therapeutic Care Workers in the Toowoomba Region to play a key role in supporting children and young persons in their healing journey through providing care in therapeutic homes. Therapeutic Care Workers also mentor children and young persons in OOHC through the WeStrive Mentoring Program. These positions are required to work across 24/7 rotating rostered shifts, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.We utilise a strong Therapeutic Framework and unique CREATE Model of Care with a focus on establishing holistic safety. Children and young people are provided with a sense of family, support to heal, opportunity to positively connect with others, and rebuild their lives.Some of the duties of this role include:Build and promote a positive and caring environment that supports the children/young people residing in our homes.Maintain safety through effectively implementing Behaviour Support Plans and Individual Crisis Management Plans.Promote independent living skills including assistance with cooking, meal planning, budgeting, shopping, and maintaining a house and other daily living requirements.Demonstrate an empathic understanding of complex trauma, incorporating this understanding into everyday interactions, as well as responding to pain-based behaviour in a sensitive and non-punitive way.Act as an appropriate adult role model, seeking to engage young people in purposeful activities aimed at developing life skills and self-worth.Benefits:We believe in taking care of our team.
