The Lead Glazier oversees a small team of installers, ensuring efficient production in alignment with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
The key responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Client Liaison Manager to install UPVC double-glazing installation projects from start to finish.
* Ensure all installation activities are carried out in compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and health & safety guidelines.
* Supervise and coordinate installation teams to optimise productivity and efficiency.
* Interpret technical drawings and specifications to plan installation procedures accurately.
* Measure and prepare surfaces for UPVC double glazing installation, including accurately cutting and fitting materials.
* Install UPVC window frames, glass panels, seals, and other components with precision and attention to detail.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any installation-related issues or challenges that may arise during projects.
* Conduct quality inspections to ensure finished installations meet customer expectations and company standards.
* Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior glaziers.
* Maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
* Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns or inquiries.
To be successful:
* Minimum of 4/5 years of experience installing UPVC products, focusing on double glazing.
* Proven track record of successfully leading and executing UPVC double-glazing installation projects.
* In-depth knowledge of UPVC materials, tools, and installation techniques.
* Strong understanding of technical drawings, measurements, and specifications.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot installation issues.
* Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
* Ability to work independently and part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
* Relevant certifications or qualifications in glazing or construction trades are desirable.
