Port Augusta is 307 km from Adelaide and takes just over 3 hoursto drive or a short 50 minute flight from Adelaide. The PortAugusta office employs approximately 34 people and is one of sixoffices in the region. As a member of this office you will workwith other professionals to deliver services to Port Augusta, IronKnob, Roxby Downs, Woomera, Andamooka, Quorn, Leigh Creek, Hawkerand up to Maree (and everywhere else in-between!).

Whyalla
Whyalla is located 395kms North West from Adelaide on EyrePeninsula’s Spencer Gulf or a short 30 minute flight fromAdelaide. The town’s population of 22,000 makes it the thirdmost populous city in the state of South Australia behind Adelaideand Mt Gambier.

Port Lincoln
Port Lincoln is located 647 km from Adelaide and takesapproximately 7 hours to drive. Port Lincoln is situated on BostonBay, one of the largest protected natural harbours in the worldthree times the size of Sydney Harbour.

Special Conditions
Essential:
AHP (Social Worker): A degree levelqualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for fullmembership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
PO (Case Manager): Appropriate degreequalification in Community Services, Social Sciences, HumanServices, Health or related field.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanderdescent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do nothave the essential qualification, may apply for and beengaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitledto apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring aqualification in Social Work within the Department for ChildProtection (DCP).
To be appointed directly to the AHP2 level, successfulcandidates must demonstrate increased professional expertise,competence and experience to perform any standard professional taskwithin the discipline. Candidates will have also attainedgreater specialised knowledge within the discipline, which enablesthem to provide professional services to client groups incircumstances requiring increasingly complex practiceskills.
About the Pool
We are establishing a pool of suitable candidates who havesuccessfully completed a selection process for thisrole. Should you be successful, you will be advised (inwriting) that you have been recommended onto this pool. The poolwill remain active for 12 months and during this time you may becontacted and offered employment. You are not required to acceptany or all offers made to you, and DCP does not guarantee an offerof employment.
