About the opportunity
The Department of Primary Industry and Regional Development's Funds Management and Reporting (RfR) branch is seeking a committed and dedicated Senior Funds Management Officer to join their team.
The Senior Funds Management Officer assists in the provision of high quality budgetary, financial management and advice for the Royalties for Regions program in a timely manner.
The successful applicant will be required to provide comprehensive financial management support to staff and other stakeholders of the Royalties for Regions.
The successful applicant will ensure Ministerial correspondence; parliamentary questions and general correspondence are attended to in a timely and informative manner. As well as researching and analysing data relating to financial reporting and accountability and provides quality briefings, support and advice to stakeholders.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
1. Possession of a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or an equivalent discipline or substantial equivalent experience.
2. Well-developed conceptual, research, problem solving skills, and provide high quality advice through, concise and logical reporting.
3. Experience in financial analysis and budget management.
4. Well-developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Capability to liaise effectively, including consultation and negotiation, with a range of stakeholders and to build and maintain relationships with internal and external parties.
5. Experience in contributing to the performance of small teams including the ability to prioritise work to achieve goals, meet deadlines, deal with competing demands and participating in a culture of teamwork
