About the Role
The Wimmera Cancer Centre is seeking a passionate and skilled Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join our Day Oncology and Medical Day Unit team. This role offers the chance to provide gold-standard care to our community, working alongside a dedicated and high-performing team in a specialized Cancer and Day Infusion setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a specialized Cancer Nurse to grow and lead in a supportive environment.
* Collaborate with the Nurse Unit Manager to deliver best-practice nursing care.
* Provide clinical leadership, expert knowledge, and problem-solving support.
* Coordinate clinical resources and manage operations on a shift-to-shift basis.
* Implement quality, safety, and risk management programs.
* Act as a resource and mentor to the nursing team, promoting team cohesion.
* Deputise for the Nurse Unit Manager when required, ensuring smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with patients, carers, and the community to ensure exceptional standards of care and service at all levels of health care provision.
* Serve as a clinical expert resource in Cancer Nursing and Day Unit infusions, supporting staff and enhancing service delivery.
* Partner with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to foster a team culture promoting engagement, safety, and professional growth.
* Lead and support innovative practices that enhance staff satisfaction and workplace excellence.
* Continuously evaluate and integrate evidence-based clinical care practices.
* Champion and support team adaptation to change by role-modelling a positive vision for transformation
Skills & Experience
* Registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold a current practicing certificate
* Desirable to have or working towards managerial qualifications i.e. short courses or graduate certificate
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and consultatively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to problem solve and make decisions in a variety of complex situations
* Experience in Cancer Nursing is preferred

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2028. The classification is Associated Nurse Unit Manager (YW11 – YW12) which ranges from $56.76 - $58.67 per hour.
