AMCOR Excavations is a civil earthworks company, primarily contracted to construct lease pads and access roads within the gas sector.
AMCOR Excavations has a rare opportunity for a motivated Workshop Manager to join our team. The role will work alongside the Operations Manager to support the project across safety, quality, cost, and program.
The Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Workshop environment for repairs and maintenance for all assets, including projects and field service.
Liaising with team members daily to provide consistency and efficiency within the workshops, with a focus on continuous improvement, safety, and team culture.
Responsibilities:
* Continuous Improvement for Safe Work practices.
* Manage the team of Supervisors and Team Leaders, encouraging open communication and high performance within the teams.
* Implement strategies in line with AMCOR Excavations' strategic plan which contribute to the MGH company vision.
* Align all workshop environments with systems and processes.
* Implement strategies to continually improve culture and communication.
* Liaise with the GM, supervisors, and team leaders daily to implement systems and processes to improve productivity and efficiencies.
* Report weekly and monthly to GM on workshop activities, budget planning, major asset repairs, and workforce productivity.
* Work closely with the GM and Asset Management team to implement maintenance and inventory systems.
* Work to tight schedules whilst maintaining the highest standards.
* Adopt and continue with Lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency within workshop operations.
* Ownership of major repairs, ensuring teams are working efficiently while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
* Work with the GM and HR to recruit new talent and encourage promotion from within.
* Maintain professional and clear communication with all company staff.
Knowledge and Experience:
* Team leader with a positive and can-do attitude.
* Strong communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals.
* Fully qualified with at least 4 years’ experience as a qualified Mechanic.
* Sound knowledge of Heavy Plant and Equipment.
* Experience in managing teams and workshops.
* Demonstrated ability to plan and work within budgets.
* Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety.
* Approachable with excellent people management skills.
* A professional, confident, and self-assured person with the ability to demonstrate flexibility and apply learnings to improve overall workshop processes.
* Ability to problem solve and engage peers to achieve the best possible outcomes.
* Experience in working in a high-performance team.
