As the Senior Business Systems Officer, MECS Support, you will participate in a team that manages the operation of Ministerial and Executive Correspondence System (MECS) in DESI and 5 other Queensland Government departments/agencies.
MECS is a licenced IT system (based on a product called Mincor).The team provides essential services in enabling client organisations to efficiently and effectively use MECS, including negotiating with third party vendor and to procure the MECS licence and ensure contractual obligations are met; developing and implementing system upgrades; providing assurance that the system meets relevant departmental and Queensland Government policies; chairing quarterly stakeholder engagement meetings; providing a helpdesk service; publishing quarterly performance management reports; and implementing staff training programs.As the Senior Business Systems Officer, MECS Support, you will:Be required to have a good understanding of the use and administration of MECS (also known as Mincor).Provide helpdesk support services to MECS users.Prepare a range of written and audio-visual material including system documentation.Contribute to the design, implementation and delivery of MECS training programs to users at both face to face and on-line training.Prepare various reports on metadata contained in MECS as requested by client departments.Maintain an effective, collaborative network with stakeholders ensuring an efficient, flexible and client focused approach.Consider options for the ongoing development of MECS to incorporate current and emerging business needs.Audit departmental compliance with MECS metadata input requirements and advise departments of any non-compliance as well as assisting with any remedial action required.Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.What We Are Looking For:Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of MECS (Mincor) use and administration.Experience in providing helpdesk support services.Communication Skills: Ability to prepare written and audio-visual materials, including system documentation.Experience in delivering training programs, both face-to-face and online.Analytical Skills: Ability to prepare detailed reports on metadata.Experience in auditing compliance and advising on remedial actions.Collaboration and Networking: Proven ability to maintain effective, collaborative networks with stakeholders.Client-focused approach to service delivery.Development and Innovation: Ability to consider and implement options for the ongoing development of MECS to meet emerging business needs.Cultural Competence: Commitment to fostering a workplace culture that supports First Nations people.Active engagement in contributing to better outcomes for First Nations people.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Occupational group: Information Management/Library
