This exciting role has been established due to further growth of our Building Automation (BA) business in Australia. To be precise, this role is taking full responsibility for leading the electronic security design for the Sydney Metro West (SMW) project across the network from initial design through to final certification in accordance with all relevant contract documents and referenced standards.Key Responsibilities:Ownership of the design/engineering for electronic security requirements in terms of scope, schedule, and budgetProvide technical direction in the field of Electronic Security to all relevant stakeholdersDesign leadership of all Electronic Security requirements for the wider SMW programme of worksTranslation of electronic security customer requirements into clear design and scope definitionApplication and compliance related to all relevant standardsReview of all relevant incoming electronic security project documentationPrepare work packages for local and remote electronic security team membersOwnership of design/engineering submittals and all relevant documentation to various stakeholdersUtilize offshore and remote design/engineering resources efficiently to minimise costs and reduce local requirements of performing repetitive and non-value adding tasksAssist the supply chain as necessary with product and services specifications and negotiationsManage effective communications with all project stakeholdersDrive compliance to standardisation, process improvement and adoption and utilisation of tools and initiativesAssessment of customer sites for design, engineering, installation, and commissioning requirementsPlan and execute the day-to-day design/engineering electronic security activitiesKey Experience & Capabilities:Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., electrical, electronic, controls, mechatronic, computer science). Alternatively relevant trade qualifications with significant experience.Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in Electronic Security projects including extensive design knowledgeStrong communication skills both verbal and written as well as interpersonal skills.Ability to manage a team, work co-operatively and provide technical direction in a team environmentProven track record in a project design/engineering capacity which includes delivery of large and complex technology-based projectsElectronic Security in a rail environment is well regarded, but not essentialAbility to work under pressure.Well versed in a compliance driven environmentA strong commitment to safety and safe working environmentCapacity to deliver against multiple objectivesAbility to identify technical solutions to customer needsFinancial and project management acumenAbout UsThe world is changing.
