As the Safety, Wellbeing and Injury Management Advisor, you will specifically:
• Perform the functions of Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator as outlined under the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 to assist the department to discharge its legal obligations.
• Assist in the management of worker's compensation claims and rehabilitation and return to work activities.
• Undertake the appropriate level of investigation, in collaboration with management, into all workplace injuries, illness and dangerous events and provide practical advice and/or recommendations/solutions for managers to enable them to prevent recurrences.
• Provide information, instruction and training to management and staff on workplace health and safety and worker's compensation and rehabilitation issues, including relevant legislation and policy.
• Engage in hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control activities.
• Conduct/co-ordinate internal inspection and audit programs as required and report to management on the development, implementation, maintenance and effectiveness of safe systems of work.
• Where required, lead or work as a member of a team, incorporating workplace health and safety functions.
• Provide assistance to the Principal Advisor Safety Health and Wellbeing as required.
