About the Role: Work Location: Perth Metro and Various sites throughout Western Australia Roster: Fly in Fly out 2 weeks on and 1 week off We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Junior Mining Engineer to join our high performing team. This role requires the successful candidate to develop and implement mine designs and schedules in line with business production requirements whilst reporting to the Operations Manager. About You: You will have a tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, or relevant disciplines such as Engineering and Geoscience, and/or significant mining operational experience. Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience. Demonstrate a practical and analytical approach to engineering and design problems. Desirable: Advanced level of computer literacy and proficient in data analysis. Proficient in the use of mine design and scheduling software packages (such as Alastri, SPRY, Vulcan & Deswik). Proven knowledge and experience associated with mine planning processes and responsibilities. Suitable project management skills to permit scheduling of mining and construction activities. Demonstrate scheduling and communication of operational mine plans. Ensuring mine schedules and mine development is aligned with long-term strategy whilst ensuring they are operationally achievable. Demonstrate Industry-leading assurance to heritage, the environment, and health & safety, ensuring this forms the foundation of all plans and business objectives. Ensuring risks in mine plans are proactively identified and effectively controlled. Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in overburden design theory and concepts, products & accessories, tools & applications, operations & field management. Engage stakeholders regarding gathering plan inputs and communication of plans. Development of training and governance processes to ensure safety & compliance, achieve legislative and site-specific requirements. Ensure planning and production responsibilities for the mine are executed safely, efficiently, and are compliant with plans. Design and assess Drill and Blast patterns to ensure appropriateness for mining purposes, optimizing outcomes for productivity and cost-efficiency as per schedule. Supervise pit development to ascertain Drill and Blast activities are scheduled and executed appropriately while considering associated cost impacts. Supervise blast performance with focus on reducing blast-related wall damage. Report and communicate technical and operational problems and provide recommendations for remedial actions.
